Oct 30th Campfire Bible Study: Archangels, Luke 1:30

Gabriel “Strong man of God”or “God is my warrior”
Gabriel is one of two celestials named in the Bible.  The other is Michael. Gabriel appears in the Old Testament in the Book of Daniel and in the New Testament in the Book of Luke.  Gabriel appeared to Daniel to make him understand the vision he had:
Daniel 8:15,16
Gabriel appeared to Daniel to interpret Jeremiah’s prophecy of Jerusalem’s desolation in 70 years saying it would be 70 weeks or 490 years before the Messianic kingdom.  Gabriel came to interpret Daniels vision of the last days:
Daniel 9:21; 10:18
Gabriel announces the birth of John the Baptist:     Luke 1:19
Gabriel announces the birth of Jesus:     Luke 1:30
Gabriel will blow the trumpet at the end of days, to announce the final judgment:     Revelation 4:1
